Terms of Use

These terms cover the PS Controller phone app and the PC receiver app. By installing or running either one, you agree to them.

What the software does

PS Controller turns a compatible phone into a gamepad. Inputs are transmitted over your local network to the receiver app running on your PC, which presents them to games and applications as controller or keyboard events.

Your responsibilities

  • Run the software only on devices and networks you own or have permission to use.
  • Keep the receiver address private — anyone on your network who has it can connect.
  • Check the rules of a game or service before using an emulated controller with it.

Allowed use

You may install the apps on devices you use personally, share the receiver app with others as an unmodified copy, and quote short passages of our documentation with attribution. You may not resell the apps, redistribute modified builds, remove notices, or use the software to build a competing product.

No affiliation

PS Controller is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Sony Interactive Entertainment or any game publisher, and it does not require or use any official PlayStation hardware or services.

Provided as is

The apps are provided without warranty of any kind. Latency depends on your router, signal strength and PC load, so performance figures quoted anywhere are typical results rather than guarantees. We are not liable for lost game progress, in-game penalties, or any indirect damage arising from use of the software.

Changes to the apps and to these terms

Features may be added, changed or removed between versions. If these terms change in a way that materially affects you, the updated version is published on this page before the next release ships.
